Sometimes I go into a collage with an idea. Other times I see something that calls to me, and a strong idea forms from there.
Then I go digging through random scraps: old National Geographics, stray photos, whatever paper I've got. None of it was meant to go together, and the fun part is getting unrelated images to mean something in a weird, fantastical way. Stuff changes along the way, with lots of redoing and undoing. But the idea stays, and that's where the inspiration comes from.

Some collages come with a short story or poem I wrote. Open one and click Read the story (or poem).
Record yourself playing drums, see exactly how your timing sits, and get coaching plus new grooves and fills in your style.
See it in action. These are real pages the tool made from my own playing. Open one and press play.
Recorded on a laptop mic, so the reports flag a couple of recording problems. That's the tool doing its job.
You play along to a click. The tool finds every hit and measures:
Then it gives feedback like a drum teacher would, with exercises and groove and fill ideas to learn from and make your own. Every idea comes as a MIDI file you can play in GarageBand.
You can try it right here: it runs in your browser and works with a mic, phone recordings, or an electronic kit over USB. Your recordings stay on your device. There's also a Python version that runs on your computer.
Add a key with at least one letter.
Each letter shifts forward (or back, to decrypt) by its key letter: A = 0, B = 1 … Z = 25. Spaces, numbers and punctuation stay as they are and don't use up the key. Capital and lowercase letters are kept. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
This site is home to my creative work and side projects, all in one place. It's a snapshot of who I am and how I'm bridging technology with the things I love.
By day I'm a data engineer. Outside of work I make collages, play drums, and build things. More and more, those worlds overlap: I'm interested in how technology can support creative work, not replace it.
